As the architect behind Casa Ana, I embarked on a mission to harmonize space and functionality to meet my clients' unique needs.
With a chef in the family, a spacious kitchen was essential, while a substantial studio awaited their artistic children, complemented by a library and a reading nook.
Catering to diverse demands, the architectural program also included a TV room, three bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a laundry room, a living room, a dining room, and a two-car garage, all within the confines of an 8.4x15 meter construction area.
After refining three conceptual proposals, I opted for an architectural asymmetry that ingeniously accommodated the extensive spatial requirements, resulting in the creation of Casa Ana.
In pursuit of cultivating a serene environment conducive to relaxation, I delved into the principles of biophilia, which I had studied extensively during my neuroscience for architecture studies. Drawing inspiration from these principles, I meticulously crafted a harmonious space by strategically integrating nature-inspired elements.
A garden beneath the main staircase, which seamlessly fosters a connection with the outdoors, lies at the core of the house. To further enhance the tranquil atmosphere, I incorporated wooden ceilings in the bedrooms, specifically designed for revitalization and repose. This amalgamation of biophilic design and conscious material choices fused to bring forth an oasis of serenity within the architectural structure of the residence.
